Their interactive website, CNN.com, features the latest multimedia technologies, from live video streaming to audio packages to searchable archives of news features and background information.
Brief Description of the Intern’s role or key qualifications: CNN’s Health Intern will assist senior staffers to provide the latest medical news from daily studies and conferences on a variety of topics including cancer, AIDS/HIV, fitness, nutrition, public health policy, science, wellness and parenting. Interns will have the opportunity to research and write stories for the website, participate in staff meetings, and learn how text stories and TV scripts are crafted. Candidates should be passionate about news, self-motivated, able to multitask, have a good attitude, and be able to function well in fast paced, high volume environment. Knowledge or experience in health news or the field of health and science is a plus, as is knowledge of television news and how video is chosen for scripts. Writing experience with work samples is recommended.
