Welcome Class of 2021

  • Students who come to the Rockefeller Center find a home, mentors, and engaged peers.

  • The Rockefeller Center has a specially designed First-Year Fellows program for the Class of 2021 that begins by taking Public Policy 5 in the winter term of 2018.

  • Outside the classroom, students can join many special events with speakers and student groups related to leadership and public service, civic engagement, and entrepreneurship.

  • Public Policy 5 is the introductory course in the Public Policy minor, which students can customize around an important public policy area that they define, such as health, education, the environment, leadership, law, poverty, or urban issues.

  • The experiential learning component of each public policy course offered at the Rockefeller Center prepares students to recognize opportunities, conduct policy research, work with policymakers, and effectively lead policy initiatives.

The Rockefeller Center has a specially designed First-Year Fellows program for the Class of 2021 that begins by taking Public Policy 5 in the winter term of 2018. Public Policy 5 is the introductory course in the Public Policy minor, which allows students to customize their own interdisciplinary plan of study around an important public policy area that they define, such as health, education, the environment, leadership, law, poverty, or urban issues.

There are additional programs open to first-year students, such as Dartmouth Leadership Attitudes and Behaviors, Student Discussion Groups, and Peer Mentoring.

"One of the best things I did my freshman year was to get involved with Rocky early on," says Anthony Marquez '18. "The opportunities at Dartmouth can be overwhelming, but with the help of Rocky's staff, I was able to develop a plan, identify the best ways to spend my time, and build an invaluable network of mentors. Don't be afraid to jump in."

 Public Policy 45 serves as a training ground for prospective applicants wishing to serve in the Policy Research Shop. Students engage directly in the public policy-making processes in Vermont and New Hampshire by providing valuable, non-partisan research to state legislative committees, commissions, and executive agencies.

Outside the classroom, students can join many special events with speakers and student groups related to leadership and public service, civic engagement, and entrepreneurship. Advising for leave-term internships is available, along with opportunities to apply for funding through the Rockefeller Center.

The Rockefeller Center faculty and staff, along with student leaders from the Classes of 2018, 2019, and 2020, look forward to meeting the Class of 2021.
