Hcheng Hillary S. Cheng '11

Hillary S. Cheng '11 is from Nashua, New Hampshire, and attended Nashua High School South. In high school, she was the co-editor-in-chief of her high school newspaper and recognized as an AP Scholar with Distinction. At Dartmouth, Hillary is pursuing a government/sociology double-major due to her interests in social justice, public policy, and political theory. Her activities on campus include being president and service chair of the Dartmouth Asian Organization; co-director of the Chinese Dance Troupe, as well as, teaching their children's classes program; and secretary and culture night chair for the Dartmouth Chinese Culture Society. During her freshman summer, Hillary interned at Millipore Corporation, a biopharmaceutical company researching anti-cancer drugs. Hillary plans on attending law school several years after graduation from Dartmouth.

Agaide Aaron Gaide ’11

Aaron Gaide ’11 is from Avon, Connecticut, and attended Avon Public High School. During his time there, he was captain of the Avon varsity soccer team and was consistently an honors student. Outside of school he captained a nationally competitive premier soccer team that collected 6 state championship titles. At Dartmouth, Aaron is studying and majoring in both sociology and psychology. Outside the classroom, he is an active participant on the Dartmouth Men’s soccer team, and is a rising member of the Alpha Delta Fraternity. During his sophomore winter Aaron volunteered to work for the National Coalition for the Homeless, where he helped educate the public about homelessness issues, and advocate for homeless civil rights. This winter he plans to work in Washington, DC, at the Charles Group, a government relations consulting firm that helps companies, non-profits, and government agencies meet their governmental needs. In the future, Aaron plans to pursue public and business oriented affairs after graduating from Dartmouth and obtain an M.B.A. and or J.D. shortly thereafter.

Ajacobs Aryana Jacobs '11
California Black Women’s Health Project

Aryana Jacobs ’11 is from the Bronx, New York, where she attended Cardinal Spellman High School. She was a member of the National Honor Society and held office as Chief Justice in student court. She also belonged to the Institute for Leadership, Education, and Academic Development (I-LEAD), a college prep program under Bank Street College of Education. At Dartmouth, Aryana is a Sociology major modified with Psychology with a minor in International Studies. She is also pre-med. On Campus she is on the Judiciary committee for the African American Association, a mentor in the Big Sib-Lil Sib program, and a member of NAACP. She actively participates in community service projects off campus. Aryana has been an intern for the Office of Institutional Diversity and Equity and a lab assistant at DMS. She will be interning this Winter in the office of the California Black Women’s Health Project, located in Inglewood, CA. After Dartmouth she plans on pursuing a graduate degree in Social Psychology and attending Medical School.

Jliang Jun Liang ’12

Jun Liang ’12 is a native of China. After spending his childhood in the coastal city of Dalian, he moved with his parents to Columbia, Missouri, at age 13. He attended Rock Bridge High School, and graduated as the valedictorian. At Dartmouth, Liang is pursuing a major in economics and a minor in applied math. On campus, he is a research assistance in the Brain Physiology Laboratory at the Thayer School of Engineering and also for the Department of Economics. He is a member of the Club Ultimate Frisbee Team. Liang plans to intern this Winter at the National Bureau of Economic Research, located in Cambridge, MA. At the NBER, he will be examining the government’s role in stabilizing the current recession. Liang hopes to pursue a career in financial services after graduation.

Bmohan Bharath Mohan ’10

Bharath Mohan ’10 is from Little Rock, Arkansas. At Dartmouth, Bharath is pursuing a major in Government and has a strong desire to become a politician. Bharath’s interest in public service has grown over the past several years. He began volunteering at a senior citizen’s center in middle school, participated in Amnesty International’s efforts to free political prisoners, and while at Dartmouth, volunteered for Bala Mandir, an orphanage in India. Bharath is a vocalist trained in the Carnatic music tradition of South India and has served as a representative on various student governments and councils, including at Dartmouth and Washington University. He has also served as an intern, for two terms, for Senator Blanche Lincoln (AR). Bharath will be interning this Winter in the office of Governor Mike Beebe (D AR). Bharath plans to pursue a political career in the Senate and the later in the Executive Branch. He wants to have the platform and the ability to effect positive changes that improve the standard of living, not only for Americans but also for people worldwide.

Apolitzer Alina Magalí Politzer ’11

Alina Magalí Politzer ’11 was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, but currently resides in Miami, Florida. As an undergraduate at Dartmouth College, she has enjoyed being an Apprentice Teacher, drilling her peers orally in introductory Spanish classes; engaging prospective students and their families as a tour guide for the admissions office; holding a part-time job in the Reserve Corridor and information desks at Baker-Berry Library; contributing to both Sin Compás, the College’s first Spanish newspaper, and The Dartmouth, America’s oldest college newspaper; co-chairing the campuses’ Winter Carnival event during her first winter at Dartmouth; and finally acting as quarterly Sisterhood, Multicultural, Art Show and yearly Banquet Chair at her sorority. On her first off term, she was granted funding from Dartmouth Partners in Community Service to return to Miami and work with an organization called The Non-Violence Project. There, Alina, taught a spectrum of underprivileged fifth to ninth graders in a summer enrichment program. On her following term away from Dartmouth, she took classes in Dunedin, New Zealand, as a transfer term. Through the Rockefeller Center’s guidance, she will be interning at the Center for American Progress in Washington, DC.

ASankar Amrita Sankar '12
FSW, Inc.
Bridgeport, CT

Amrita Sankar ’12 is from Ridgefield, Connecticut. Sankar is pursuing a major in Government and Philosophy with a Minor in public policy in hopes to effect positive change. This past fall, Sankar was one of thirteen students selected as an "Obama Intern" to promote Obama's campaign. On campus, Sankar participates in a number of activities, ranging from mock trial, college democrats, to female a cappella. She has served on the executive board for "Milan", a South Asian organization on campus, on the Pan Asian Council, selected for Dartmouth's Leadership Development Program, and served as a First-Year Fellow through The Rockefeller Center. Amrita will be working at FSW, Inc. located in Bridgeport, CT.

JTetirick Jillian Tetirick ’11

Moscow, RUSSIA

Jillian Tetirick ’11 is from Cornish, New Hampshire, and attended Stevens High School in Claremont, New Hampshire, from which she graduated as valedictorian of the class of 2007. At Dartmouth, she is pursuing a minor in Russian Language and Literature and a major in Linguistics, which she has complemented with a Presidential Scholarship research position in Linguistics. On the Development Team of the Navigators Christian Fellowship, Jill has also held leadership positions in Epsilon Kappa Theta sorority and the Decibelles all-female a cappella group. Jill has completed two study abroad terms, one on the Russian L.S.A. to St. Petersburg, the other in Paris on the French F.S.P., and will serve as an intern for the U.S. Department of State in Moscow during winter term 2010. She plans to pursue a career in international relations with the U.S. Government after graduation.
