Unique and valuable curricular opportunities are offered to Dartmouth undergraduates who have an interest in policy analysis or policymaking in any aspect of public life. The Dartmouth/Oxford Exchange and the Public Policy Minor are the academic complements to Rocky's student organizations and public programs that offer students a stimulating environment for posing policy questions and enlivening the discourse around policy issues.
Dartmouth-Oxford Exchange
The Dartmouth/Oxford Exchange Program provides an opportunity for up to four Dartmouth undergraduates per term (fall, winter, and spring) to enroll in Oxford's Keble College. As fully-integrated members of the Oxford community, students live on campus, participate in co-curricular and social activities, and take pre-approved political economy courses in the British tutorial system that count toward their major.
Public Policy Minor
The Public Policy Minor provides a variety of perspectives on policy questions, such as how policy is defined and affected by changes in values, institutions, technology or markets. In choosing courses for the minor, students identify a policy track, customizing the focus of the minor. Our new policymaking process course, Public Policy 5, is available as an introductory course for the Minor. Seven additional public policy methods courses are also available. Possible policy tracks include: environment, law, education, health, identity, urban issues, or a policy track of the students' own design.
