What is the Dartmouth-Oxford Exchange?
The Dartmouth-Oxford Exchange Program provides an opportunity for up to four Dartmouth undergraduates per term (fall, winter, and spring) to enroll in Oxford's Keble College. As fully-integrated members of the Oxford community, students live on campus, participate in co-curricular and social activities, and take pre-approved political economy courses in the British tutorial system that count toward their major.
Who is eligible?
The program is designed to serve government and economics majors; however, others may apply for consideration on a space available basis. Typically, students apply during their sophomore year to attend Keble during their junior year. First-year and transfer students are ineligible, and seniors may be eligible with prior approval of the Registrar and the Major department. A GPA of at least 3.50 is required for admission.
Are there any prerequisites?
There are no specific prerequisites for the Keble program. Please present in the application a list of all the relevant courses you have taken so far towards your major in order to build a strong case as to why you are qualified to take either Economics or Government courses at Keble.

How do I apply?
Applications are available online through Off-Campus Programs. The deadline for submission is February 1 for all terms (fall, winter, and spring) of the following academic year.
How does this fit in my D plan?
A normal course load at Keble College is two courses. The courses are taught using the British tutorial system, meaning lots of one-on-one time with the professor and independent study time with only occasional, if any, class meetings.
Dartmouth and Keble work together to offer courses that are equivalent to Dartmouth courses so that students may select courses that fulfill major requirements, if appropriate. After acceptance in the Dartmouth/Oxford Exchange Program, students select two courses from a pre-approved list (included in the information packet) to be taken at Keble College and confirm approval with their Government or Economics Department advisor.

What is the tuition?
The cost of the program (one term) for 2007-08, including tuition, room and board, was $15,161.00. All students presently receiving Dartmouth financial aid are eligible for this aid for the Dartmouth-Oxford Exchange Program.
What are the dates for Oxford academic terms?
Following are the dates for Keble's 2008-2009 schedule:

Hilary Term (Winter): Sunday, January 18th to Saturday, March 14th
