First-Year Forum

 

What is First-Year Forum?

FYF is a free weekly dinner discussion for first-year students during the fall term. First-year students gather together to discuss current events, political philosophy, or meet faculty or visiting scholars…All the while getting to know fellow first-years.

What are some past events?

FYF is not about debating politics. Topic discussions come from the FYF participants themselves. Past discussions include the following:

  • Iran, Nuclear Technology and International Politics
  • Celebrities and social causes: the changing face of activism
  • Early Decision and other college pressures
  • Religiously Motivated Conflicts
  • Post-Election Results
  • 2008 Elections: What could they look like?
