PoliTALK

PoliTALK is a student forum for discussion on both domestic and international current events/politics. Students from all years meet weekly for dinner to discuss topics ranging from domestic policy to international relations to upcoming elections. The topics are emailed several days before the meeting so that interested student can attend. Often articles from varying perspectives on the issue are read and discussed. Any and all students are welcome to attend these weekly meetings.

Several times per term PoliTALK hosts a breakfast or dinner with either a Dartmouth professor or outside speaker. These special meetings allow students to interact with a variety of interesting guests who come to Dartmouth's campus to speak on political issues, or to get to know those Dartmouth professors who share interests similar to their own. It is not rare for famous politicians or columnists to sit with 10 or 12 students and talk for an hour.

Weekly discussions have featured a variety of topics:

  • Partisanship
  • Supreme Court and Politics
  • Fiscal Policy
  • Nuclear Proliferation
  • Midterm Elections
  • Joint Dinner Discussion with AGORA with Shaeffer/Douquet
  • Universal Healthcare
