Student Dinner with Prof. Moon Duchin, Tufts University

Moon Duchin is a mathematician at Tufts University, where she also serves as director of the interdisciplinary Program in Science, Technology, and Society.

Professor Duchin's mathematical research areas are low-dimensional geometric topology, geometric group theory, and dynamics. Recently she has been intensely interested in applications of metric geometry to political redistricting. Professor Duchin holds a CAREER grant from the National Science Foundation and was recently elected as a Fellow of the American Mathematical Society.

The student dinner follows her public talk, "Political Geometry: What Do Shapes Have To Do with Fair Electoral Representation?" (5:00-6:00 pm, Rockefeller 003)
