Aloysius "Ish" T. McLaughlin III '88

Ish McLaughlin is Managing Director and the North American Head of Investor Sales at Citi. In this capacity, he is responsible for developing and executing Citi’s investor client strategy across all products in the region.

Ish has had a number of significant roles in his twenty-two years at Citi. Ish worked on the Investment Grade Syndicate desk from 1995 through 2010, and was ultimately responsible for the distribution of all Investment Grade USD debt. He then spent two years managing the wind down of $140bn Special Asset Pool portfolio in Citi Holdings, which was comprised of much of the non-core high risk and high RWA legacy risk of the firm. He ran Flow Credit Sales from 2011 through 2015, and was responsible for North American distribution of Investment Grade, High Yield, Loans, and Distressed products.

Ish has always been passionate about ensuring that the right people are hired at Citi. Ish served as the co-head of the Markets Recruiting Hiring and Steering Committee from 2013 through 2016. He serves as the ICG senior representative on the Cornell University recruiting team, in addition to being actively involved in recruiting at his own Dartmouth College. He is a member of the North America Markets and Securities Services management team, as well as a member of the Citigroup New York/New Jersey Leadership Council.

Ish received a BA in History from Dartmouth College in 1988, and an MBA in Finance from New York University in 1995. He supports several national and local causes. One such role is his role on the Board of Directors for the United Negro College Fund, where he serves on both the Executive Committee and as Head of the Investment Committee. Ish was born in Pittsburgh, and lives in New Jersey with his wife Nora and their son, Aloysius IV (Ish).
