Arturo Serrano Borrero

First-Year Fellowship: Save the Children; Mentor: Gabriella Garcia '01

Arturo Serrano Borrero ’24 graduated from Academia Interamericana de Panamá in Panama City, Panama as class salutatorian. As a math competitor and coach, Arturo obtained six Panamanian National Math Olympiad medals and the University of Panama Scholarship awarded to Panama’s three highest-scoring senior mathematicians. He served as debate team secretary general and faculty advisor. Arturo has volunteered as a project manager full-time for the Panamanian Debate Association, an NGO focused on education, inclusion, and civic participation, and part-time for UNICEF Panama. At Dartmouth, Arturo plans to major in Mathematical Data Science and minor in History. He is a Dickey Center Great Issues Scholar and a parliamentary debater. He also participates in the International Students Association, Dartmouth Club Taekwondo, and Christian Union Vox, and he works for the Admissions Office and the Department of Spanish. He hopes to contribute to education and economic policy through his problem-solving and statistical methods skills.
