First-Year Fellowship: Human Rights First; Mentor: Welton Chang '05

Emily Lu '23 hails from Austin, Texas and graduated from Westwood High School as an IB Diploma recipient and a National AP Scholar. In high school, she served as editor-in-chief of her school’s online newspaper for two years. She also qualified for international DECA and HOSA competitions and was a varsity pole vaulter on the track and field team. At Dartmouth, Emily hopes to major in psychology with minors in public policy and global health. She is currently a staff reporter for The Dartmouth's news and sports sections. She also conducts research with The Dartmouth Institute of Health Policy and Clinical Practice and plays on the club womxn’s ultimate frisbee team. After graduation, Emily hopes to draw from her experiences in journalism to pursue a career in public health or health policy.
