Hayden Welty

First-Year Fellowship: United Nations Development Programme; Mentor: Sarah Jackson-Han '88

Hayden Welty '23 was born in London, England and grew up in Phoenix, Arizona. He graduated from Brophy College Preparatory as a National AP Scholar and Distinguished Student. At Brophy, Hayden was the President of Mock Trial, Editor-in-Chief of the newspaper, and Managing Editor of the literary magazine. Statewide, he was elected the 71st Annual Youth Governor of Arizona and the Class President of both Boys Team Charity and Miracle League of Arizona. At Dartmouth, Hayden hopes to pursue a Government Major Modified with Economics and Public Policy and Religion Minors. He is a Dickey Center Great Issues Scholar, a news reporter for The Dartmouth, and the Treasurer of the West House Executive Board. Hayden is also involved with the Mock Trial Society, Model UN, and as a peer writing tutor trainee for RWIT. After graduation, he plans to enter law school and pursue a career in public policy.
