Jonas Stakeliunas

Rockefeller Leadership Fellow

Jonas Stakeliunas '20 grew up in Lithuania and moved to the U.S. in the 11th grade to study and play basketball. He graduated from Gill St. Bernard's School in NJ and did a PG year at the Hill School in PA. Jonas played basketball at Dartmouth his freshman year. While at Dartmouth, he has done two FSPs- a Chinese language program in Beijing Normal University and Middle Eastern Studies program in Alif Center, Fez, Morocco. Jonas is majoring in history, and has a wide interest in all of the social sciences. Jonas can communicate in 10 European languages, of which 7 of them he has taught himself. Thanks to the Rockefeller funding, Jonas has done an internship at the Lithuanian Mission at the UN, NY. With the funding from class of 1956, Jonas has travelled to Moscow to do history research for an independent project during one of his off-terms.
