Robert Tichio ’99 is a partner and managing director of Riverstone Holdings LLC, the New York-based global energy and power private equity firm that manages $28 billion across a family of funds. He focuses on investments across the energy landscape, with a particular focus on global exploration and production businesses.

Prior to joining Riverstone in 2006, Mr. Tichio was in the Principal Investment Area of Goldman Sachs, which manages the firm's private corporate equity investments.

Mr. Tichio began his career at J.P. Morgan in the Mergers & Acquisition Group where he concentrated on industrial companies with assignments including public company combinations, asset sales, takeover defenses, and leveraged buyouts. He has served on more than one dozen public and private company boards with values aggregating in excess of $15 billion.

Mr. Tichio received his A.B. from Dartmouth College, where he was elected Phi Beta Kappa, and later received his M.B.A. with distinction from Harvard Business School.

Robert and his wife, Maya, are active supporters of the arts and education. In addition to his corporate board roles, Mr. Tichio currently serves on the Board of Mentoring Youth Nantucket, formerly Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay, and the Painting and Sculpture Committee of the Whitney Museum.
