Public Programs

This position assists with the Rockefeller Center's Public Programs, which bring distinguished guest speakers, scholars, and policymakers to campus to discuss a variety of relevant issues.

Student Program Assistant

The Student Program Assistant helps with the preparation for these public lectures, along with student lunches, coffees, and dinner events. Responsibilities include researching class visits, writing articles for the Center's website, creating speaker schedules, putting together speaker packets and letters, distributing posters, and doing student outreach. Prior to the start of and during the lecture or special event, program assistants help with setup inside and outside the lecture hall, crowd control, handling mics for Q&A, and other tasks related to public program lectures. Following the event, Program Assistants may host student receptions or dinners, and will enter program stats into the database and write summaries of the event and content for the Rockefeller Center's website. During the Fall and Spring terms, the Program Assistant will be asked to assist with the Rockefeller Center Board of Visitors meetings, and the Rockefeller Center Open Houses. 

Hours: 5–10 hours a week.

Schedule: Based on public program dates and times.
