A conversation with three state Supreme Court justices, touching on topics such as:

  • The role of a state Supreme Court judge, state vs. federal courts, trial vs. appellate, interpreting state constitutions.
  • Paths to becoming a state Supreme Court justice.
  • The changing role of a state Supreme Court judge as the overseer of the state court system overall.

The panel will be followed by small groups discussions with each of the three justices and the moderator. Students will have the opportunity to speak with each participant about: experiences at Dartmouth that influenced his/her career path, professional and community activities that he/she participate(d) while at Dartmouth and after, words of advice for studies, especially those interested in a legal career.
