Judicial Fellowship Program

The Rockefeller Center's Judicial Fellowship program is a nationwide judicial internship opportunity for Dartmouth undergraduates

The Rockefeller Center's Judicial Fellowship program is a nationwide judicial internship opportunity for Dartmouth undergraduates.

Unique in the Ivy League, the program matches successful student applicants with Dartmouth's large network of alumni/ae jurists to mentor and expose students to the inner workings of a judge's chambers and court. Through this unique experience, one typically only afforded to law students, Dartmouth students develop unique insights into the nation's multi-faceted judicial system.

Just as courts vary, so will students' experiences within the Judicial Fellowship Program. Whether a student is conducting research for a state supreme court justice, assisting in a diversionary drug court, or preparing memos and case summaries for a federal judge, students will leave their fellowship experience with a new appreciation for the work of a court and the features of the lives of those it touches.

Participating judges will know that they have meaningfully affected the life of a promising student. Whether that student goes on to pursue a legal career or dedicates themselves to helping address the underlying social conditions affecting court dockets, the exposure Dartmouth Judicial Fellows will have through this program will, in the words of one alumni judge, be "incredibly valuable to them as humans."
