Ben Buurma ’29 grew up in Sarasota, Florida, and attended Pine View School, where he served as class vice president, earned regional and international Model UN awards as an officer, and was a charter member of Students Against Gun Violence. He was also a Presidential Scholarship and AP Capstone recipient, National Merit Finalist, first violinist in the Sarasota Youth Orchestra, poll worker, and intern for the Sarasota County Democratic Party headquarters. At Dartmouth, Ben plans to major in Government, minor in Public Policy, and explore the liberal arts. He co-founded Dartmouth’s Moot Court Team, where he serves as vice president, and is involved with Dartmouth Law Journal, Dartmouth Political Union, Dartmouth Democrats, and Let Us Lead. He also works as a student assistant with the Rockefeller Center and interns for a New Hampshire congressional campaign.
