Christopher E. Baidoo is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Rockefeller Center for Public Policy at Dartmouth. As a lawyer and social scientist, he is an interdisciplinary scholar whose research broadly examines how laws, policies, and systems influence public health, public safety, and social inequality. In research for which he received the Harry F. Guggenheim Emerging Scholar award, he found evidence linking qualified immunity elimination, recreational marijuana legalization, and federal intervention in local police departments to reductions in fatal police-civilian encounters and associated racial and ethnic disparities. His research has been published in numerous journals, including the American Journal of Preventive Medicine, American Journal of Criminal Justice, Journal of Urban Affairs, Social Science & Medicine, and Tobacco Control.

In addition to his academic research, Christopher has conducted applied research as a public policy fellow with Harvard University’s Rappaport Institute for Greater Boston. In partnership with the Massachusetts Office of the Child Advocate, he analyzed online child sexual abuse laws and policies and made recommendations to strengthen the Commonwealth’s prevention efforts. He also brings over a decade of higher education administration experience, most recently serving as chief of staff at California Western School of Law in San Diego.
