Vanston Ly ’29 is from Quincy, Massachusetts and graduated from North Quincy High School, where he served as Class President, Deputy Commander of the MA-841st Air Force Junior ROTC, Drill Team Commander, and President of the Kitty Hawk Air Society. He was selected as 1 of 171 cadets nationwide to attend the 2024 AFJROTC Flight Academy, where he completed 8 weeks of rigorous flight training and earned his Private Pilot Certificate. Passionate about history and community engagement, Vanston worked as a Heart of the City Guide, sharing his hometown's rich heritage with visitors. He plans to pursue a career in public service after Dartmouth as a Government and History major with a Public Policy minor. Vanston enjoys exploring the Upper Valley, connecting with his peers, and better understanding how history informs modern policy decisions.
