[more]As a First-Year Fellow, Jared Cape ’21 interned at the Office of U.S. Congresswoman Anne McLane Kuster under the mentorship of Ann McLane Kuster ’78. The following is an excerpt from his final report. I interned at the Office of Congresswoman Kuster which represents and serves the New Hampshire District 2 constituents. This includes voicing constituents’ thoughtful concerns and opinions, taking legislative action in the best interest of the district, and assisting constituents through casework.
[more]For an intern, I was given an incredible amount of responsibility and independence. I was motivated to work hard and excel, because I knew that my final product would have a meaningful impact on FERC’s surveillance.
[more]This internship has reinforced my passion for Government. Attending briefings on subjects ranging from the Peace Corps to the Nomination of Justice Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court was the most rewarding and engaging component of my internship on the Hill. After each one, I walked away having gained a wealth of knowledge.
[more]The fellowship provides an unparalleled experience for first-year students to experience policymaking firsthand under the leadership of a Dartmouth graduate who we can observe, learn from, and strive to emulate.
