Rockefeller Center Co-Curricular Digital Badging

The Rockefeller Center is delighted to introduce a new initiative which will make it possible for students participating in its leadership programs to communicate their skills gained through their participation in these programs.

Why is Rocky badging?

The Rockefeller Center is committed to providing students participating in Rocky's leadership programs with the tools necessary to achieve their professional goals. The Center understands that communicating skills and accomplishments in an ever-expanding online marketplace can be challenging. Digital badges can be used in email signatures or digital resumes, and on social media sites such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter.

What are digital badges?

Digital badges recognize a particular experience or significant accomplishments, such as completion of a project or mastery of a skill. For recipients, badges act as a signal to current and prospective contacts of their active learning, engagement, and mastery or demonstration of competencies. Today's economy necessitates a workforce that educates itself beyond formal degrees. Badges offer a way to document and share the skills gained through those experiences.

How will badges work at the Rockefeller Center?

The Center will start by offering badges in our 5 leadership programs based on criteria appropriate for each program. All students who fulfill the criteria for successful completion of a program will receive a badge. If this initiative proves to be successful, it will be expanded to include other programs offered by the Center.

Who will receive a badge?

All students who complete the requirements for Rockefeller Center co-curricular programs from Winter 2022 onwards will receive a badge. We will also be retroactively distributing badges in summer 2022 to eligible '22s, '23s, '24s, and '25s, who completed our co-curricular programs before 22W.

I've earned a badge, now what?

Once you are awarded a badge, it will show up in your DartmouthGroups account.  Badges display on the user profile and can be connected to your LinkedIn profile. Follow these steps to add a Badge to your LinkedIn profile:

    -Navigate to Home

    -Click the My Activity dropdown and select My Badges

    - Click Add to Profile

-Click Save

The Badge will display in the Licenses & Certifications section of your LinkedIn profile
