John Howard '15, a Perkins Bass named intern funded by the Rockefeller Center, recently worked in Washington, D.C. for US Senator Kelly Ayotte (R-NH). A history major, John shares his internship experiences with Dartmouth College. Check out his video:

[more]The Nelson A. Rockefeller Center is one of several Dartmouth centers that grants funding support for unpaid internships to undergraduates. Rockefeller Public Policy Internship Grants are designed to enable students to work in an unpaid non-profit or governmental agency on issues of public policy research, public policy analysis, issue evaluation, or activities that help shape and determine public policy - whether at the local, state or national level. Grants of up to $4,000 are awarded to students through a competitive application and interview process each term.
[more]At approximately 9:10 am on June 26, I got it—my golden ticket. With it, I gained access, not to Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory, but to the Supreme Court of the United States where I heard the justices pronounce, explain and dissent some of the most important human rights rulings since the Civil Rights era.
