[more]On Wednesday, November 1, 2023, The Rockefeller Center hosted New Hampshire State Party Chairs Chris Ager (R) and Raymond Buckley (D) to discuss the upcoming Presidential Primary. The conversation was moderated by Robert Clements Professor of Democracy and Politics Russell Muirhead, who represents Grafton-12 in the New Hampshire House of Representatives.
[more]The Rockefeller Leadership Fellows had a busy fall term! The quarter started with a kickoff retreat in September. At this all day event, the 2024 cohort got to know each other through a series of team bonding activities led by Dr. Stephen Gonzalez from Dartmouth Athletics. The Fellows also developed their "Cohort Norms" and began drafting their leadership philosophy for the year. In October, the Rockefeller Leadership Fellows met again for a midterm check-in. The students reconnected with each other and reflected on their leadership goals over dinner.
[more]The Rockefeller Global Leadership Program taught me that the most useful and relevant tools and tips to bridge over the differences between cultures and between people are very simple and accessible to us all: not rushing to assumptions; keeping an open mind; actively listening and supporting; and being vulnerable and flexible. In an increasingly multicultural world, constant employment of these tools will help build community, foster connections, and elevate new perspectives and experiences.
[more]Cross-cultural experiences provide unique opportunities to better our ability to tolerate ambiguity and contribute to our growth as better leaders, colleagues, and friends. At first, ambiguity can be alarming: engaging with diverse cultural contexts exposes us to a rich tapestry of perspectives and values that might be unfamiliar or even contradictory to what we know. This challenge can also be intensified by intimidating differences in life experiences or communication gaps.
