[more]"This summer, I spent 10 weeks working at the Climate Institute in downtown Washington D.C. Founded by John Topping (Dartmouth ’64) in 1986, the Climate Institute is the country’s first organization focused solely on climate change."
[more]My assignments quickly evolved to include composing legislative summaries, researching environmental bill proposals, and tracking media coverage on policy. All this work goes toward the first steps taken to make significant economic changes in the United States.
[more]Sonstituent correspondence was my main responsibility, which included answering phone calls for the office, providing assistance to the callers, and organizing mail sent to the office. In fact, ensuring effective correspondence between constituents and representatives provided me with a unique perspective into what it means to be a public servant.
