Attending the Critical Ethnic Studies Conference at the University of British Columbia was life-changing. The conference sessions pushed me deeper into the field and introduced me to academics who are producing groundbreaking research within interdisciplinary research.

TEDxDartmouth organized its annual independently organized TED event on April 21, 2018 with 12 speakers sharing "paradigm shifting" ideas in fields ranging from education to global health to college athletics. The event was a great networking opportunity for students and community members in the Hanover area to engage with experts in their field.

The Dartmouth Explorers Symposium was a weekend of multiple events, including a tour of the Ledyard archives in Rauner, a screening of a new conservation-oriented film, a tour of the Olympic Shed boats, and of course, the symposium itself. The symposium explored themes of adventure and leadership through tales of expeditions across decades and addressed the topic of conservation, focusing particularly on the role of hydropower.
