Join a panel of some of your most accomplished peers in a question-and-answer style discussing regarding the following topics:
  • How to navigate through Dartmouth as a 'pre-LAW' student (i.e. classes, professors, extracurriculars, etc.)
  • How to study for the LSAT / When to take the LSAT
  • What one can do with a JD (law degree) and why one would want to continue their studies at law school
  • and much more!

Speaking on the panel include seniors: Sam Marullo '13 (Yale Law School), Lindsay Brewer '13 (Yale Law School), and David Sayet '13 (Stanford Law School). Learn a little more about them below:


Sam Marullo '13 | Yale Law School

Sam Marullo is a senior from Syracuse, NY studying mathematics and government. During his time at Dartmouth, he has worked as a research assistant to Professor Deborah Brooks, a teaching assistant in the Computer Science Department, and for the Rockefeller Center. Through the Rockefeller Center, Sam spent his junior winter studying politics at Oxford University's Keble College. During his sophomore year, he studied Spanish at the University of Barcelona. Away from campus, Sam has interned at Bridgewater Associates, a global macro hedge fund based in Westport, CT. Previously, he also worked at the President's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness in the Treasury Department and at the National Association for Biomedical Research through the Rockefeller Center's First Year Fellows program. Next year, Sam will work in the Boston office of the global management consulting firm McKinsey & Company. Following his time there, he will attend Yale Law School.

Lindsay Brewer '13 | Yale Law School

Lindsay Brewer is a senior who has completed majors in government and environmental studies, along with a minor in public policy. During her undergraduate career, Lindsay has interned at the White House, the D.C. Superior Court (as a Rockefeller Center First Year Fellow), and Practically Green, an environmental start-up based in Boston, Massachusetts. To supplement her coursework, Lindsay studied political theory at the University of Oxford through the Rockefeller Center and traveled to South Africa, Namibia, and Lesotho on the Environmental Studies FSP to learn about conservation and development issues. She is completing a senior thesis in the Environmental Studies Program exploring the evolution of corporate social responsibility in the United States and analyzing the business case for corporate sustainability. Lindsay will attend Yale Law School next year to pursue a career in environmental law.

 


David Sayet '13 | Stanford Law School 

David Uncas Sayet is a Senior from Norwich, CT with a major in government and a minor in ethics. He served as a Presidential Scholar doing research in the religion department, and also spent time doing research in the government department on the topic of terrorism. During his time as a Presidential scholar he researched the role of religion in the neo-natal care unit and how to provide better care to parents of preemies. He is the former Co-President of the Dartmouth Investment In Philanthropy Program and current President of Men’s Forum. As President of DIPP he oversaw the investment of over $350,000 in the stock market and distributed it to philanthropic ventures on campus. As the President of Men’s Forum he hosts weekly meetings centered around the topic of masculinity and gender constructs, as well as helping put on panels, performances, and collaborative events with other gender related organizations on campus. David has also been politically active since his junior year of high school, serving as a congressional intern. Most recently, he served as a Dartmouth Liaison to the Obama Campaign, setting up public events and recruitment presentations. During his off-terms his pursuits have ranged from working at a tech startup, serving as a policy analyst at a non-profit housing group, to helping Guatemalan immigrants gain political asylum in the United States. David will be attending Stanford Law School in the fall.
