Rockefeller Leadership Fellow: Lindsay Newton '15

This ongoing series introduces the Rockefeller Leadership Fellows for the 2014-2015 academic year. The Rockefeller Leadership Fellows (RLF) program provides fellows with resources in leadership theories and practical skills. Selected their Junior Spring, these Seniors take part in the workshops, dinner discussions, and team-building exercises as they gain a better understanding of the qualities and responsibilities necessary for leaders and successful leadership styles. Throughout the program, fellows learn from the insight and experience of distinguished guests as well as from each other.

Lindsay Newton '15 graduated from the Middlesex School in Concord, MA where she was a peer tutor, head of the French club, an active community volunteer, and student body president. She was also involved in a mindful meditation class and Youth in Philanthropy. At Dartmouth, Newton is a pre-med French major hoping to become a primary care pediatrician. She is also a Schweitzer Fellowship volunteer at the Good Neighbor Health Clinic, a proud mentor for both the DREAM program and Summer Enrichment at Dartmouth, an enthusiastic first-year Dartmouth Outing Club trips leader, and the philanthropy chair for her sorority, Tri Delta. Throughout her junior year, Newton worked with an interdisciplinary committee to create a community-based learning course about population health in the Upper Valley, which will hopefully be offered in the fall.
