Democratic Senator Maggie Hassan is a U.S. Senator from New Hampshire.
Brief Description of the Intern's role or key qualifications:
The Washington, D.C. internship gives students the opportunity to learn how the Senate functions and how it interacts with the House of Representatives, as well as the Executive and Judicial branches of the federal government. Interns may have the opportunity to sit-in on committee hearings and briefings, assist with legislative projects, attend educational events in and around Washington, D.C., and lead Capitol tours. Interns will also assist with mail room duties, provide administrative support, and participate in front office staffing.
The New Hampshire internships provides a local perspective on how our office helps constituents resolve issues involving federal agencies. Other opportunities may include attending community meetings, processing constituent mail, drafting letters, and conducting policy research.
