Brief Description of the organization:
The 100 Million campaign is a call to action for a world where all young people are free, safe and educated.
We support young people to mobilize to end violence against children, eradicate child labour, and ensure education, breaking the cycles of illiteracy, poverty and violence so that every young person in the world has the chance to fulfill their potential.
100 Million was founded by Nobel Peace Laureate Kailash Satyarthi, the human rights activist who has worked tirelessly to end the suppression of the rights of children and young people, and to deliver the right to education for all. Kailash has been at the forefront of the global movement to end child slavery and exploitative child labor for almost four decades and was the architect of the single largest civil society network for the most exploited children, the Global March Against Child Labour.
Brief Description of the Intern's role or key qualifications:
Responsibilities can be matched to student's interest. Initial role would be to assist 100 Million US Campaign Manager to research state policies on children's rights to find opportunities for the organization to advocate for change.
Ideal Candidate possess flexibility and willingness to work remotely. They should have a passion for helping marginalized populations, especially youth and should have the maturity to maintain regular communications with supervisor.
