Brief Description of the organization:
The Connecticut Council of Family Service Agencies, Inc. (CCFSA) is a statewide network of fifteen independent, non-profit organizations that have been effectively serving CT families for over 100 years. Network Partner Agencies are community-based, licensed by the State of CT, nationally accredited and are governed by volunteer boards of directors from their respective communities.
The Mission of the Council is to be the premier resource to strengthen Connecticut's diverse individuals and families, and the communities in which they live. To accomplish this mission, we will build our Partner agencies' capacity for collaboration and innovation; advocate for the development of State and Federal policies and programs that will foster the well-being of CT's children, adults and families and develop and provide services that empower them to move toward self-reliance and healthy inter-dependence.
Brief Description of the Intern's role or key qualifications:
As a team member, the Intern would work with Senior Management staff to collect and analyze population and service utilization data, problem-solving, research best practices, and produce application materials to inform program design and influence public policy that positively impacts family strengthening and community building. Additionally, the Intern will research policies that negatively impact (Temporary Aid for Needy Families) TANF recipients and use this information to assist staff in creating proposed legislation that would modify policies to be more advantageous to the recipient.
The Intern will utilize CCFSA's Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) software to validate information, implement monitoring strategies, clearly communicate findings, and make recommendations for continuous quality improvements in service delivery.
