Brief Description of the organization: The American Enterprise Institute (AEI) is a public policy think tank dedicated to defending human dignity, expanding human potential, and building a freer and safer world. The work of its scholars and staff advances ideas rooted in a belief in democracy, free enterprise, American strength and global leadership, solidarity with those at the periphery of our society, and a pluralistic, entrepreneurial culture.
Brief Description of the applicant's role or key qualifications: The analyst will conduct independent research, analysis, and writing related to al Qaeda and other Salafi-jihadi groups' activities in the Arabian Peninsula and North, East, and West Africa. Research responsibilities also include the global al Qaeda network and tracking al Qaeda affiliates in and around the Indian Subcontinent. The analyst will also be responsible for: selecting, training, and developing interns; providing feedback on technological innovation projects; and providing other research and administrative support as required.
