Position Purpose

The Program Officer for the Rockefeller Center works closely with the Assistant Director, the Deputy Director, and other program staff to implement undergraduate, co-curricular programming. Programs offered are high quality and offer rigorous undergraduate training and skills development in leadership and public policy. The Officer serves as a resource and provides research, management, implementation, development, and design for assigned programs.

Required Qualifications-Education and Years of Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3-4 years of relevant experience.

Key Accountabilities

Program Planning, Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation (70%)
Plans and implements assigned programs, engaging in all aspects of the process from content development to logistics coordination to participant interaction. Coordinates and implements the application, selection, and award process for assigned programs. Communicates and coordinates regularly with assigned programs' guest speakers and maintains excellent relationships with outside vendors, campus partners, and other stakeholders that relate to assigned programs. Implements new program initiatives with the Assistant Director and the Deputy Director. Provides back-up program support as needed to other Co-Curricular programs

Outreach and Marketing (15%)

Conceptualizes, plans, and executes student outreach for assigned programs. Provides program and event schedules, summaries, information, and any related materials for internal and external communication purposes. Advises students about programs offered by the Rockefeller Center. Works as a supporting member of the broader Center team in executing campus-wide events including orientations, open houses, and presidential debates.

Administration and Finance (15%)

Responsible for budgeting and monitoring expenses and managing financial documentation related to assigned programs in consultation with the Finance Manager. Organizes and manages print and digital records, correspondence, and other files in the Center for assigned programs and assists in updating and maintaining Center databases. Participates and contributes to weekly, quarterly, and annual planning meetings with the entire staff. Hires, supervises, and trains student program assistants to assist with administrative responsibilities for assigned programs.
