Good Luck to Former Rocky-Funded Intern

Ariana Ramsey '22 is headed to the Paris Olympics as part of Team USA's Rugby Team. She was a Class of '81 Rocky-funded intern at USA Rugby, at the U.S Olympic Training Site in Chula Vista, CA during the Winter term of 2023. She interned with the COO of USA Rugby, working on women's pay and benefit equity issues within women's professional rugby.

Of her internship, Ariana shared:

"After working for a public policy organization, more specifically a non profit organization that seeks to expand the sport of rugby for both men and women, it turned out very rewarding. I was able to watch people who were so committed to the sport come in every day and put out everything. On the back end, I was able to see the revenue generation, the work being put in to expand the sport, and the work that can improve. This grant from the Rockefeller Center was an immense help throughout this internship. I was able to buy food, gas, and supplies that I needed to succeed. Opportunities like these don't come very often and when it did, I had a cause that I cared greatly about and wanted to dive into. This grant gave me the opportunity to work under a developing non-profit where I was able to learn the ins and outs of the organization without having to stress about finances. I am so grateful for the Rockefeller Center and what it does for students. I also want to thank the donors of the organization because they are also an immense help to the program and I guarantee students are getting experiences that they otherwise would not have."

We wish her good luck at the Olympics!
