The Passing of Happy Rockefeller

The faculty, students, and staff at the Rockefeller Center note with sadness the passing of Margaretta Fitler “Happy” Rockefeller, the widow of Nelson A. Rockefeller for whom the Center is named. Happy was a kind and thoughtful supporter of the Rockefeller Center since its inception. She joined us in Hanover most recently in 2008, as we celebrated both Nelson Rockefeller’s centennial and the Center’s silver anniversary. An obituary from the New York Times can be found here.
