Brief Description of the Intern's role or key qualifications:

Planned Parenthood New Hampshire Action Fund is seeking to fill a part-time, unpaid Organizing Internship (can be used for course credit) out of our Concord, NH office. The intern would train under Planned Parenthood New Hampshire Action Fund's senior organizing staff while working on PPNHAF endorsed political campaigns, learning about grassroots organizing, movement building, and volunteer management. This is an excellent opportunity to learn how organizing is conducted throughout New Hampshire while acquiring significant communication and leadership experience. This internship is ideal for candidates interested in women's issues and the political process, or for those pursuing a career in non-profit agencies, politics, public policy, public affairs, government relations, community outreach, or marketing.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop advocacy materials
  • Support in volunteer recruitment
  • Organize and lead door knocking and phone banks
  • Participate in tabling events across New Hampshire
  • Assist in preparing and creating materials for organizing events
  • Train volunteers and develop organizing systems

Qualifications:

  • An interest in reproductive health care, women's issues, and politics
  • Passionate about grassroots organizing and movement building
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Google Suite required
  • Experience working with NGP VAN preferred, but not required
  • Must be able to communicate to the public about PPNHAF's mission, goals, and services
  • Reliable and self-motivated
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Flexibility, initiative, creative thinking, and a willingness to learn required
  • Some night and weekend hours required
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Must be able to travel to PPNHAF's Concord office at 18 Low Avenue at least once a week
