Lt. Dan Choi on "Breaking Barriers", May 1st @ 7 PM in Filene Auditorium

The Nelson A. Rockefeller Center is proud to co-sponsor the Keynote Address of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month at Dartmouth. "Breaking Barriers," a public talk by Lt. Dan Choi, former infantry officer in the U.S. Army and LGBT rights activist, will take place in Filene Auditorium, Moore Hall at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, May 1st.  There will also be an Asian Pacific American Heritage Month Opening Reception: 8:00 pm, Filene Foyer, Moore Hall. 



Dartmouth Now recently profiled Lt. Dan Choi, an Iraq veteran and skilled Arabic speaker, who was discharged from service for openly admitting he is gay.

The article also highlights another upcoming speaker for Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, Jane Hyun, the author of the book Breaking the Bamboo Ceiling. Hyun, the founder and president of the consulting group Hyun & Associates, will speak as part of the Nelson A. Rockefeller Center for Public Policy and the Social Science’s Portman Lecture Series on May 20.
