[more]At approximately 9:10 am on June 26, I got it—my golden ticket. With it, I gained access, not to Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory, but to the Supreme Court of the United States where I heard the justices pronounce, explain and dissent some of the most important human rights rulings since the Civil Rights era.
[more]My decision to come to Dartmouth was not something I planned. I applied to many schools as a senior in high school and only started choosing after I received admission. When I came to Dimensions at Dartmouth, I was struck by the picturesque campus, the focus on undergraduate education, and the programs at the Rockefeller Center. I knew from reading and hearing about Rocky programs that I wanted to be involved with the Rockefeller Center during my time at Dartmouth.
[more]The main reason why I chose to attend Dartmouth was the sense of community that I felt here. From my first campus visit, to my admissions interviewer, to the alum that came to my house after I had been accepted to give me a Dartmouth t-shirt, everyone seemed so warm and inviting and genuinely seemed to care about one another. This was the type of community that I wanted to become a part of for the next four years and beyond.
[more]The final on-campus Civic Skills Training session featured a workshop on Teamwork led by Assistant Athletics Director for Leadership Steven Spaulding. During the session, we brainstormed and discussed attributes of a successful team or group, such as sharing a common overall mission.
