Irving ’72a P ’10 Professor of Economics, was honored at the Rockefeller Center Board of Visitors dinner on May 9, 2019 for his 15 years of leadership as director of the Nelson A. One of my main takeaways from planning the Dartmouth Sustainability Summit is that teamwork is an essential component to any event’s success. It truly was not something any one person could have pulled off by themselves, and it required the unique skill sets of every person on the planning committee. The network of collaboration and communication that we had on our committee was truly instrumental to the event’s prosperity.

Gao was inspired to write a thesis during her internship at the Brookings Institution, where she conducted research on transparency, accountability, and participation efforts in the natural resource sector. Her thesis will examine the diversity policies and practices of leading environmental advocacy organizations in Washington, D.C.
