About the organization:

MobilizeGreen is a Washington, DC-based non-profit that jumpstarts green careers for diverse students. MobilizeGreen partners with federal environmental and natural resource management agencies and NGOs offering internships.

Anticipated areas of focus include:

  • Urban planning and design
  • Ecology, ecosystems, and biodiversity
  • Environmental education and outreach
  • Soil sciences and rangeland management
  • Archaeology
  • Environmental policy and law
  • Waste management and recycling
  • Food and sustainable agriculture
  • Environmental science and engineering
  • Forestry
  • Natural resource management
  • Water quality and poverty
  • Recreational planning
  • Climate Change
  • Environmental Justice

There will be paid internships at the career fair, opportunities to network with environmental and public lands officials, and a career panel. There will also be major speakers on hot topics.

Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older to attend the event.
  • Students who are 18 years of age or older and enrolled in an institution of higher education OR have graduated within 2 years at the time of the conference may be eligible to receive a travel/housing scholarship.
  • All applicants may apply to attend the conference and career fair, but preference will be given to those with environmental, natural resource, recreation, or other related majors, including science and engineering majors, and those with an interest in working on environmental policy or with environmental agencies, NGOs, and corporations.
  • All selected applicants will have to provide a bio and photo.
  • There is a limited number of scholarships, and applications will be considered on a rolling basis. Those applying for travel and housing stipends should submit their applications no later than February 10, 2018.
  • You must be a U.S. citizen or a lawful permanent resident to obtain an internship with many government agencies. International students can apply for the conference as long as they are nominated by a United States college/university and are currently attending or recently graduated from said U.S. college/university. International student slots are limited, however.
