Public Program: The Presidency in Real Time - A Rudman Center Conversation with Presidential Chiefs of Staff

Please join us for “The Presidency in Real Time: A Rudman Center Conversation with Presidential Chiefs of Staff”, live-streamed from the Warren B. Rudman Center for Justice, Leadership and Public Policy at the University of New Hampshire inRockefeller 003 at 3:00 pm on October 9, 2014.

The Rockefeller Center is excited to bring to students and faculty the chance to directly ask questions to various Presidential Chiefs of Staff who have loyally served for many years in the White House. Co-hosted with the Warren B. Rudman Center for Justice, Leadership and Public Policy, as well as UNH's Carsey Institute, three Chiefs of Staffs will be participating in a riveting panel hosted by Christopher Whipple, the Executive Producer of the documentary film The Presidential Gatekeepers. Professor Dean Lacy will host at Dartmouth.

These Chiefs of Staffs have been at the forefront of the Presidency and this is your opportunity to ask them about their exciting experiences.

Joining us will be:

Kenneth M. Duberstein, who served as Chief of Staff to President Ronald Reagan. He is now the chairman and CEO of the The Duberstein Group, an independent strategic planning and consulting company advising leading corporations and a select group of trade associations.

Thomas F. “Mack” McLarty, III, who served as Chief of Staff to President Bill Clinton and has had experience advising George H.W. Bush and Jimmy Carter. He is now the chairman of McLarty Associates, a strategic international advisory firm, as well as McLarty Companies, a fourth generation automotive and transportation company.

Andrew H. Card, Jr., who served as Chief of Staff to President George W. Bush as well as in the administrations of two former presidents. He is the second-longest serving White House Chief of Staff and also served as US Secretary of Transportation under President George Bush.

Moderator at UNH: Christopher Whipple, a former Emmy Award-winning producer at CBS News 60 Minutes and ABC News PrimeTime. He currently serves as the president of CCWHIP Productions. He is the Executive Producer of The Presidents’ Gatekeepers, a groundbreaking look at the role of the modern White House chiefs of staff. For the film, Mr. Whipple interviewed all 20 living chiefs as well as former presidents Jimmy Carter and George H. W. Bush.

Moderator at Dartmouth: Dean Lacy, Professor of Government and Director of the Program in Politics and Law. His research and teaching focus on American and comparative politics, particularly elections, public opinion, and lawmaking. Professor Lacy recently served as a visiting lecturer at the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics
