Internship Opportunities at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette welcomes students from around the country to intern in the biggest journalism internship program in the United States. Edited by a trustee emeritus of Dartmouth College, the Gazette is interested in attracting Dartmouth applicants.

Interns perform as regular staff members. They have the opportunity to either design page one or have their stories or pictures appear there. Each intern gets a mentor, plenty of personal attention, and unlimited opportunity.

Specific intern responsibilities include writing, editing, taking pictures, designing pages, and working in multi-media and web platforms.

Internships are available all four terms. A stronger preference is given for fall, winter, and spring positions. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette hires multiple interns for each term. Last summer, the Post-Gazette hired 28 interns.

Applications are accepted October 1 through December 31 for internships the following year. Applications should consist of a resume and work samples and should be sent to Linda Parker at lparker@post-gazette.com.
