Brief Description of the organization:
The Governor's Office Internship Program is a select internship experience designed for students who are innovative and passionate about public service, and offers a variety of opportunities and possibilities for interns to gain both academic and professional experience. The Governor's Office Internship Program is designed to give high-quality applicants the opportunity to see the inner workings of state government and contribute to growing and improving the State of New Hampshire.
The Governor's Office Internship Program is intended to provide you with:
Exposure to operations and day-to-day tasks of the Governor's Office
Experiential learning and assignments that reflect methods in how the office strives for government to be more effective, efficient, and open to its citizens
A framework to enhance educational experience through practical work and research, thereby developing skills useful for career development
Brief Description of the Intern's role or key qualifications:
Duties as an intern may include any of the following areas:
Communications and Press Department Support to include transcribing speeches and interviews, assisting with press releases and helping to catalogue photos of the Governor and his events
Scheduling – Organizing scheduling and meeting requests and working with the Governor's Director of Scheduling in responding to requests
Policy research to include reviewing pending legislation before the New Hampshire House of Representatives and New Hampshire Senate, as well as review of existing state RSA's and regulations.
Constituent Service – Assisting with constituent complaints and inquiries, preparing and executing official proclamations and citations issued by the Governor, assisting with organizing, logging, and responding to constituent correspondence
