Desired Major or Interest: Open to all majors; those with a strong interest in sexual health and wellness preferred; individuals with a history of working with individuals from diverse backgrounds preferred

Brief Description of the organization:

AFC brings together service providers and funders to develop systems that addressed the needs of those living with HIV/AIDS. AFC receives more than $17 million in local, state, and federal funds to manage a range of AIDS related health services. AFC assists government institutions in planning, monitoring, and distribution service contracts in order to develop provide expertise and promote high-quality care across the region. 

Brief Description of the Intern's role or key qualifications:

The internship is designed to be both educational and practical. First, the intern will work with the senior director of Prevention Advocacy and Gay's Men's Health on work related to PrEP awareness and uptake such as trainings, mobilizations, and social marketing. In doing so, the intern will gather a better idea of the role PrEP for HIV plays in the Chicago epidemic, and be better prepared for work in the field of HIV/AIDS, public health, communication, and public policy.
