PBPL 5 / GOVT 25: Introduction to Public Policy (Gateway Course in Public Policy)

This course is designed as the gateway offering for students beginning to explore public policy at Dartmouth and beginning to pursue a Public Policy Minor (PBPL Minor).  The course provides an applied introduction to public policy, and engagement with a range of contemporary issues of substantive interest to students.

Research Methods Prerequisite

One course conveying quantitative or qualitative research methods is required as part of a completed PBPL Minor.  Options include, but may not be limited to, Public Policy 10, Government 10, Sociology 10, Quantitative Social Science 15, Economics 10, Mathematics 10, Psychology 10, Geography 9.01, 11, and 50, Sociology 11.  (As a prerequisite, this can count toward another Major and/or Minor.  As a prerequisite, credit for one of these courses can also count to satisfy this requirement.)
