Akhand Dugar is from Los Altos, California, and before that, Bangalore, India. He graduated from Mountain View High School as a National Merit Finalist and an AP Scholar with Distinction. At MVHS, Akhand was Editor-in-Chief of his award-winning high school newspaper, the Oracle, where he discovered his interest in photography and videography. In his junior year, he decided to join Freestyle Academy, his district's digital arts program for upperclassmen where he studied film and digital media. He also served on the Leadership Board of E3 Youth Philanthropy, a group where students organize service projects, make grants, and learn about the nonprofit sector. At Dartmouth, Akhand joined the Dartmouth Investment and Philanthropy Program where he is a Portfolio Monitor and is a fellow at the Pi Lambda Sigma pre-professional society for students interested in careers in the public sector. After graduating, Akhand plans to pursue a career in political consulting.
