The Dartmouth Society of Fellows, Rockefeller Center for Public Policy and the Social Sciences, and Department of Government welcome Bill Deresiewicz for a lecture on the history and purpose of university education.

William Deresiewicz is an essayist, critic, and the best-selling author of Excellent Sheep: The Miseducation of the American Elite and the Way to a Meaningful Life. Bill's writing appears frequently in The New York Times, The Atlantic, Harper’s, and many other publications. Bill taught English at Yale and Columbia before becoming a full-time writer in 2008.
