Today’s survey researchers face an uphill battle since it has never been harder to glean truth from survey data. The increasing cost of high-quality samples, low response rates, and the proliferation of online panels that are vulnerable to bogus respondents all serve to increase polling error and cast doubt on polling results.

Dan Costanzo, a Director of Business Development at the National Opinion Research Center (NORC) at the University of Chicago, will be visiting the Rockefeller Center on Oct. 23rd to discuss AmeriSpeak’s novel approach to sample recruitment, which includes face-to-face engagement with initial non-respondents to help reach groups that are typically underrepresented in survey research. Additionally, he will discuss NORC’s Time-Sharing Experiments for the Social Sciences (TESS), a federally-funded program through the University of Rochester that enables academic researchers to use AmeriSpeak for free.

If you would like to join the session with Dan Costanzo, please respond to the Rockefeller Center Administrator, Ann Fenton (ann.n.fenton@dartmouth.edu) by October 22nd so that she can include you in the lunch count. Additionally, please indicate if you have any dietary restrictions.
